GOTG: Christmas Time Rocket X Reader

It was early December on the Milano, Peter recently bought a box of Christmas decorations he got from the trade market.  He still couldn't believe that decorations from Terra made out this far in the galaxy.  As soon as he returned, he already began decorating the inside of his ship while humming a little tune to himself.  

You came back to the Milano sometime later with a box of supplies and you saw what Peter was up to.  After setting your box down on the table, you examined what he had done to the meeting room.  The walls were covered with multicolored lights, silver and gold garland, and a few glitter covered ornaments.

"Peter, what the?"  You said as you continued to look around the room.

"Hey _____, what do you think?"  Peter asked with a smile on his face.

"It looks great but I'm not sure how everyone else is going to react," you said.

As soon as your words left your mouth, Gamora and Drax came in and stood speechless at the bright colorful decorations that covered the walls of the Milano.

"Quill, what is all this?"  Drax asked.

"These are decorations for Christmas," Peter said.

"Christ-what?"  Drax said confused.

"Christmas," Peter repeated.

"What's Christmas?"  Gamora asked.

"What's Christmas?  Well I'll tell you," Peter began, "Christmas is an amazing holiday celebrated on my planet where friends and family gather together and exchange gifts, eat lots of good food, and spread good cheer and I'd thought it would be nice if we could all celebrate it together."

"Quill, what's up with all this glittery shit!"  Rocket yelled as he saw the decorations, his sudden outburst caused everyone to jump slightly.

"And here we go," you said in deadpan.  Groot came in seconds later and he too noticed the colorful décor.

"Quill, what the hell did you do to the ship?"  Rocket asked still upset.

"It's my ship I think I can do what I want with it," Peter stated.

"I don't care if it's your ship I just think it would be really great if you mentioned something before you go and do something this ludicrous, right Groot?  Groot?"  Rocket looked toward his friend.

Groot was fascinated with the shiny garland and the ornaments hanging on the wall.  He smiled as he watched them sparkle in the lights.

"Idiot," Rocket said under his breath while shaking his head.

Sometime later, Peter pulled you aside because he wanted to show you something else he found in the box.  Peter pulled out one last item from the box, it was a small plant with green leaves, white berries, and wrapped in a red ribbon.  It only took you seconds to realize what it was...Mistletoe.

"I'm probably going to regret asking this but, what are you going to do with that?"  You asked.

"Simple, I'm going to use this to get a kiss from Gamora," Peter said.

"What?"  You couldn't believe what he was thinking.

"Well it's tradition to kiss under the mistletoe and I think that if I can convince Gamora maybe I could get a kiss from her," Peter explained.

"If your little plan works I'd be amazed," you said sarcastically.

"Oh, it'll work just wait and see," Peter said sounding pretty confident.

Later, you went over to the table and saw Rocket working on another contraption.  You took the seat next to him, leaned back, and made yourself comfortable.

"Hey Rocket," you said.

"Hey ______," Rocket replied, still working on his gadget.

"So what's up?"

"Not much right now, how about you?"

"Well, Peter told me he had a plan on how he could get a kiss from Gamora," you said rolling your eyes.

Rocket stopped what he was doing, "What?"

"Peter said he could get a kiss from Gamora."

Rocket busted out laughing then you laughed along with him for a good five minutes.  You took in a few deep breaths to calm yourself down before you two continued the conversation.

"How is he going to accomplish that?"  Rocket asked trying to calm himself down.

You took in a breath of air, "Let's say he found something in that Christmas box that could help him with it."

"I really don't see what the big deal is, it's just another Terren holiday," Rocket said.

"It's not just another Terren holiday, it's a time of year when everybody gathers around, give gifts to each other, have a big feast, and enjoy each others company."

"Uh-huh," Rocket replied still not entirely interested.

"Well, what if I told you there are a few Christmas themed drinking games?"

Rocket grinned, "I think I'm starting to like this Christmas thing."

You giggled, "It's not all about getting drunk you know."

Before Rocket could say anything else he did a double take and looked up, "Umm _____, what's that?"  Rocket pointed up over your head.

You looked up and saw Groot holding up his arm above you two.  In his hand, he held the mistletoe over both of you with the biggest smile on his face.

"Aww Groot why?"  You groaned.

"Groot what are you holding?"  Rocket asked.

"Rocket, that's mistletoe and there's a tradition when two people are underneath it they...," you blushed.

"They what?"

"Kiss," you blushed harder.  The room became awkwardly quiet as you two sat there with Groot hovering over.

"Of course you don't have to if you don't want to I mean-," you quickly added but Rocket cut you off.

"Sure."

"Wait what?"

"Well, we don't want to break tradition now don't we?"  Rocket smirked.

You blushed, "I-I guess not."

You leaned in a little closer but hesitated, Rocket took the opportunity and finally close the gap between you two.  Your eyes went wide for a second before slowly closing, you tilted your head slightly and kissed back.  Groot was trying to look away but he couldn't resist a peak or two.  You both slowly parted and looked each other in the eyes for a moment or two.

"______?  Have you seen the mistletoe anywhere?"  Peter called out.

You swiped the mistletoe away from Groot, "Umm, no," you giggled.
